Commitment Issues and College-ness

See, this is why I should never be put in charge of things. I think, "Oh, yes! A blog! What a fabulous idea!" and then three blog posts are quickly followed by a prolonged silence. Apologies.

My only real excuse is that I have finally started college (which is not even a real excuse as my first lectures only started today...) and I have been super busy trying to organise everything that goes along with that. Even though it's only been one day and two lectures, I think I can say that I'm going to like college A LOT. I've already met quite a few new people such as myself and I even have new friends to sit with in every one of my lectures tomorrow! Shauna = happy.

So far I've been introduced to Biochemistry and Biology lectures, both of which I think I'm really going to like. As for tomorrow's TWO math lectures and physics module (which I have never studied), we have yet to see. I'll try and reserve judgement until I actually sit through them.

It's weird seeing people from my old school here too. It's hard, because you see them, you really want to know how they're doing, but in reality you are already running late for lecture two and you've just realised there are about 300 of you heading in the same direction and you'd rather not be sitting in the front row. (Note: This still happened. Yes, I am that cool.)

Mostly, I'm looking forward to next week: Fresher's Week. Fresher's Week is the week in which all the societies and clubs make tiny stalls and hand out lots of free stuff in the hopes of tricking as many first years as possible to join their society and give them lots of money. Well, not that much money but I'm pretty sure it will all add up. Free pizza, pens, frizbees, condoms, you name it, it's probably being given away with some kind of logo on it. I'll keep you posted.

And so, I leave you. But in the effort of making more people comment, I have a question for you! What is/was your favourite time of year at college? Or, for those of you who haven't made that transition yet (or don't really feel like making it ever), what is the strangest free item you have ever received?

Until next time,
love,
Shauna
